In partnership with Nansing School of Cauayan City, INC., the Philippine Normal University North Luzon
commenced its extension activity, the Capability Building Training Workshop for Teachers and Students, on February 14, 2024.
The activity aimed to contribute to the overall improvement of the educational experience, ensuringthat teachers and students of Nansing School of Cauayan City are well-equipped to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving educational landscape.
โThis collaboration is essential not only for PNU-NL but most importantly to the teachers and students to enhance their knowledge and skills,โ Dr. Agnes S. Reyes, Executive Director and Provost of PNUNL
remarked during her speech emphasizing the roles of these activities in shaping our education today.
Dr. Marites A. Balot on the other hand served as the resource speaker for the kick off of the training-
workshop discussing the topic, โUnlocking the Power of Teaching and Learning Strategies Across
Disciplines.โ โIt is essential for us teachers to adapt to the changes in our education system, which includes the curriculum. We must also know various approaches and strategies to cater to the differentiated needs of our students,โ Dr. Balot accentuated during her lecture while presenting the different teaching-learning strategies.
Meantime, the PEMS Club and Danggayan Cultural group facilitated the studentsโ workshop on dances
including Zumba, Folkdance, Gymnastrada, and Unity dance respectively.
Dr. Jandy S. Danzalan, Director of Research, Extension, Quality Assurance, and Development stated the purpose of the activity, โThese series of trainings and workshops are to provide targeted and practical training to improve the overall effectiveness of teachers and students in their respective roles.โ Dr. Danzalan also mentioned that the activity will not only facilitate specific needs of the faculty and students but in the school in general.
Prof Virgilio F. Reyes, Jr., Head of Extension, Alumni, Linkages, and Internationalization presented the overview of the phase 1 training matrix that will run from February to June.
