Alicia, Isabela | The Philippine Normal University North Luzon (PNUNL) held a Testimonial Dinner on August 3, 2025, at the 4th Floor of the InnoHub Building to honor two of its most distinguished alumni: Dr. Ricmar P. Aquino, former President of Isabela State University (ISU), and Dr. Boyet L. Batang, the newly appointed ISU President.
This special gathering was a celebration of their exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to education, both having risen from their roots as PNUans to lead one of the largest state universities in the region. The dinner highlighted their remarkable journeys and honored their enduring legacy as educational leaders.
Dr. Aquino was recognized for his transformative leadership and institutional innovations during his presidency at ISU. Dr. Batang, meanwhile, was celebrated for stepping into the role with a renewed vision for inclusive, future-oriented higher education. Both leaders credited their academic and professional foundations to their formative years at PNU.
In his message, PNU President Dr. Bert J. Tuga lauded the honorees for their lifelong dedication to public service: โThis celebration is not only for the positions you held, but for the impact youโve made carrying with you the ideals of PNU wherever you go.โ
Also in attendance were key PNUNL officials, including heads of academic and support units, faculty members, and staff.
A highlight of the evening was the presence of several invited PNU alumni leaders from various sectors, many of whom now serve as school heads, administrators, and education advocates.
