The Philippine Normal University North Luzon (PNU North Luzon) conducted a three-day training on the ISO 21001:2018 Educational Organizations Management System from January 27, 28, and 30, 2025, at the EDP Conference Room. The initiative aims to enhance the management and quality standards of the institution by equipping auditors with the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure compliance with the international standard. Additionally, the training seeks to capacitate and strengthen the process operations of various offices and the university as a whole.

A total of 17 participants, comprising faculty members and administrative personnel, underwent the training to enhance their auditing competencies in alignment with ISO 21001:2018.

The training commenced with opening remarks from Dr. Agnes S. Reyes, Executive Director and Provost, who highlighted the significance of ISO 21001:2018 in improving the quality of education and institutional processes. Dr. Jandy S. Danzalan, Director for Research, Extension, Quality Assurance, and Development, underscored the purpose of the training and introduced the resource speaker, Engr. Angelica C. Fraginal, an expert in ISO standards and educational management.

Engr. Fraginal led an in-depth session on the key principles and benefits of ISO 21001:2018, emphasizing improved organizational processes, enhanced learner satisfaction, and increased institutional credibility. Participants engaged in group activities and case studies, fostering collaboration and deeper understanding of the standardโ€™s application in real-world educational settings.

The training continued on January 28 with discussions on the auditing process, best practices, and common challenges institutions face in complying with ISO 21001:2018. Participants gained insights into effective auditing techniques and methodologies to assess PNU North Luzon’s adherence to the standard.

On the final day, January 30, participants conducted a live audit through interviews with various offices. This hands-on activity allowed them to apply their newly acquired auditing skills while evaluating process operations within the institution. The live audit ensured that offices were aligned with ISO 21001:2018 requirements, reinforcing a culture of continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

The three-day training successfully equipped PNU North Luzon auditors with the necessary tools to uphold quality education, promote institutional excellence, and optimize process operations across different offices. With the implementation of ISO 21001:2018, PNU North Luzon is expected to enhance its management systems, benefiting both learners and stakeholders.
