Alicia, Isabela โ October 16, 2025. The Philippine Normal University North Luzon (PNUNL) successfully conducted the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) earlier today, emphasizing the importance of disaster preparedness and community responsiveness within the university.
Spearheaded by the PNUNL Arayat Club and the Safety and Security Management Unit (SSMU), the drill aimed to strengthen the university communityโs readiness in times of natural disasters, particularly earthquakes. The activity simulated an earthquake scenario followed by a coordinated evacuation and rescue operation, ensuring that both students and faculty members were familiar with proper safety protocols.

Their teamwork, quick response, and composure reflected their strong commitment to safety and service.Their involvement reinforced the universityโs holistic approach to preparedness โ combining discipline, knowledge, and community service.
Executive Director and Provost Dr. Agnes S. Reyes commended the organizers and participants for their proactive involvement in the nationwide initiative.
โPreparedness is not just a one-time event; itโs a mindset that we must continue to build as educators and learners. I am proud of our students and organizations for taking this drill seriously and showing teamwork, discipline, and compassion โ qualities that truly reflect what it means to be a PNUan,โ Dr. Reyes stated.
The activity was conducted in adherence to Republic Act No. 10121, or the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Act of 2010, and NDRRMC Memorandum No. 027, s. 2025, which encourage institutions nationwide to conduct earthquake drills to enhance readiness and safety awareness.
