ALICIA, Isabelaโ Acknowledging its participation and support, Philippine Normal University North Luzon (PNUNL) ended Pride Month Celebration with Trashion Show and Hair and Make-up Contest spearheaded by PNUNL Katalonan Club and PNUNL Student Government on Wednesday at the University Gymnasium.
The said program was conducted to celebrate the successful month-long Pride celebration for equality and acceptance of the LGBTQIA+ community, which was an advocacy of LGBTQIA+ people in the past decades.
Prof. Jay-Ar Balauag, the PNUNL Katalonan Adviser, enunciated that the advocacy of the said celebration is living with its purpose, which is to fight for equality.
โThe importance of Pride Month goes beyond the celebrations we partake in; it serves as a reminder that our fight for equality is far from over. We must continue to challenge discrimination and prejudice, to stand tall in the face of adversity, and to be proud of who we are and whom we love,” said Balauag.
As the highlight of the Pride Month celebration, the 23 candidates in their creative gowns made from trash and recyclable materials competed in the trashion show, and 13 candidates competed in the hair and make-up contest.
Adjudicated by the Board of Judges, namely: Prof. Jay-ar Balauag, Prof. John A. Furuc, and Prof. Charissa E. Callingangan, the winners of the said activities are the following:

2nd Runner-up – Bachelor in Filipino Education (III BFE)

Lastly, Balauag appreciated those who joined the activities that helped to make the event successful.
