Mr. Roy T. Layao, Community Development Officer III of NCIP Cauayan Community Service Center, handed over the copies of the Project Epanaw coffee table books to PNU North Luzon being the Hub for Indigenous Peoples Education. Project Epanaw is the story of the indigenous cultural communities/indigenous peoples through their own eyes. It showcases the ICCs/IPs, their pristine and relevant indigenous knowledge systems and practices, and their existing and potential contributions to sustainable development. The first coffee table book, “Pagkilala” (Recognize), showcases the profiles of each ICC/IP. It contains information about their history, location, and an overview of their social and daily lives. The second coffee table book, “Paggalang” (Respect), features festivals and rituals that the ICCs/IPs practice concerning important events such as birth and death, the agricultural cycle, and the sacred and profane. While the third coffee table book, Pagtaguyod (Promote), contains travel destinations in ancestral domains for eco-tourism. The coffee table books are under the custody of the Office of the Center for Indigenous Peoples Education and are open for viewing purposes.
