The Research and Publication Unit (RPU), under the Office of REQAD at Philippine Normal University North Luzon, successfully held the Panagpabileg: Research Empowerment Program for Faculty and Staff on September 10, 2025, at the 4th Floor Innovation Hub Building. Focused on ethnographic research, the event served as a platform to explore diverse perspectives and methodologies in the field. Professor Rodel B. Guzman, PhD, delivered an engaging lecture highlighting the significance of ethnography through a decolonization lens.
The program also introduced participants to the Research Management Office (RMO) forms, essential for monitoring and documenting research activities. An open forum allowed faculty and staff to raise questions and clarify processes, ensuring they were well-informed to begin their research journey. To further support this, workshops were conducted based on the current research status of the participants, allowing for tailored guidance that addressed their specific needs and contexts.
This program lays the groundwork for PNUNLโs academic community to progress from developing research concepts to producing publishable scholarly work. As part of a progressive initiative, the next phase of the program, scheduled for October, will guide participants through the formal presentation of their research proposals, further reinforcing the universityโs commitment to cultivating a culture of research excellence.
