On January 17, 2025, the Admin Staff of Philippine Normal University North Luzon participated in a team-building activity themed “Aspire for Productivity (AFP) Service to PNU North Luzon.” The event aimed to provide a day of enjoyment and relaxation while inspiring a sense of accomplishment and promoting excellence in performance.
Organized by the Human Resource Management Development Unit and fully supported by Dr. Madonna C. Gonzales, Director of Administration, Finance, and Planning, the event took place at Paguila’s Resort in Sto. Tomas, Alicia. The venue offered a refreshing escape from the usual routine, creating an ideal environment for collaboration and growth.
The event underscored the importance of team building in fostering stronger relationships among colleagues and laying the groundwork for improved work performance. These activities are vital for enhancing communication, cooperation, and problem-solving, all of which contribute to greater workplace efficiency and effectiveness.
Dr. Carlino G. Santos, Jr., Guidance Counselor and Coordinator of Student Welfare Services, was invited as the guest speaker. His presentation on “Mindfulness in the Workplace” provided valuable insights into managing daily tasks more effectively, reducing stress, and integrating mindfulness practices into work routines to boost overall productivity.
The highlight of the event was a series of team-building games, where the 20 regular staff members were divided into three teams: Yellow, Blue, and Red. The activities tested various skills such as communication, planning, problem-solving, and conflict resolution. The competition results were:
Champion: Red Team
1st Place: Yellow Team
2nd Place: Blue Team
The Red Team, which emerged as the champion, attributed their success to a well-executed strategy—carefully analyzing each game, assigning the right members to the right tasks, and, most importantly, prioritizing teamwork.
Overall, the team-building event was a success, leaving participants inspired and equipped with valuable skills to apply in their daily work at PNU North Luzon.
