The event gathered around 40 participants from over 15 countries, reflecting the regionโs shared commitment to sustainability through education. Organized by the College of Integrative Studies, Singapore Management University, and the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (Germany), the symposium served as a platform for sharing innovations and practices that promote Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).
Discussions were organized around five key themes: Campus Greening and Operations, Sustainability in the Curriculum, Sustainability Research, Community Engagement and Cooperation, and The Nexus between Peace and Sustainability. These themes emphasized the integration of sustainability principles into teaching, research, extension and institutional practices.
Dr. Danzalan and Dr. Leaรฑoโs participation highlights PNU North Luzonโs commitment to advancing global sustainability goals and promoting education that equips learners to build a more sustainable and responsible future. Selected papers from the symposium will be featured in Springer Natureโs World Sustainability Series, further contributing to the growing body of knowledge on sustainable higher education.
