Alicia, Isabela โ November 5, 2025, the Philippine Normal University North Luzon (PNUNL) brought together researchers, faculty and staff from across the Philippines, both in-person and online for the Panagpabileg: Research Empowerment Program. Under the guidance of Dr. Jandy S. Danzalan of the Office of Research, Extension, Quality Assurance, and Development (REQAD), the event provided an opportunity for educators to explore innovative research practices and connect with both local and international experts in meaningful ways.
The morning sessions featured insightful presentations from Thailand by Dr. Malee Sitthikriengkrai of Chiang Mai University and Dr. Bijay Sigdel of Shinawatra University. Dr. Sitthikriengkrai encouraged participants to embrace Participatory Community Research in Ethnic Communities, highlighting approaches that are inclusive and community-driven. Meanwhile, Dr. Sigdel captivated the audience with his discussion on AI-Powered Data Analysis, showing how artificial intelligence can transform the way researchers collect, process, and interpret data. Their sessions offered participants a fresh international perspective on enhancing research practices.
In the afternoon, Dr. Jesusimo L. Dioses, Jr. of Isabela State University Echague and Mr. Angelo Isaac Dioses of Mapua University joined the program onsite, engaging attendees with his talk on AI Research for Teacher Education and Indigenous Peoples Education. He emphasized how technology can support culturally responsive learning and empower educators to innovate in their classrooms.
The Panagpabileg program not only strengthened research skills but also reinforced PNU North Luzonโs dedication to fostering collaboration, professional growth, and a vibrant academic community.
