On February 1, 2025, the Philippine Normal University North Luzon (PNUNL) resumed its extension program for the Agta community in Sitio Magamut, San Vicente, San Pablo, Isabela, after a temporary halt in the last quarter of 2024 due to continuous typhoons. As part of this ongoing initiative, the university conducted various sessions focusing on educating Indigenous Peoples (IP) mothers on essential health practices, distribution of herbal plants, wellness and literacy session, and distribution of “Bags of Joy”.

This program is a continuation of PNUNL’s long-term efforts to support indigenous communities. In April 2022, the university’s Center for Indigenous Peoples Education launched the “PNU SiKad (Sirib ken Kadawyan)” extension program in the Agta community of Sitio Magamut, San Vicente, San Pablo, Isabela, aimed at enhancing their capabilities through various educational and developmental initiatives.

Despite the challenges posed by extreme weather conditions, PNUNL remains committed to fostering inclusive education and improving the well-being of indigenous groups through sustained community engagement.
