Forty-two campus officials, heads of offices, faculty and select administrative staff attended a two-day Internal Quality Auditing Course for ISO 9001:2015 on January 7-8, 2021. The trainer, Engr. Paul Mondoñedo, Senior Consultant of the ISOM Management Training and Consultancy, and IMS Lead Auditor of TUV SUD PSB Philippines discussed the clauses of ISO 9001:2015 which guided the participants through internal audits that are required for a quality management system.

       Meanwhile, an Introduction to ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System – Terminologies,  Clauses, and Requirements was discussed by Dr. Erminda Fortes, Lead Auditor for QMS of PNU Manila, on February 24, 2021. This was followed by an Orientation on Control of Documented Information by Prof. Joemar Sajona, Director, Management Information System Office of PNU Manila on March 10, 2021. Both activities conducted virtually aimed to provide the regional campuses quality teacher education program through the Standards.

       On May 5, 2021, an Initial Status Review/Gap Analysis was conducted by Dr. Erminda Fortes to establish the current position of PNUNL with regards to the quality and to identify areas for improvement as a basis for the implementation of a QMS, which will meet the requirements of ISO 9001:2015. Moreover, the drafting of office procedures by process owners is in place.

       Following the roadmap to ISO certification, the PNUNL Quality Policy was drafted on June 5, 2021. This was approved by the Administrative Council and was forwarded to the Board of Regents for approval.
