The Faculty of Teacher Development (FTD) is a constituent structure of the Campus consisting of a community of scholars across disciplines engaged in advancing knowledge in teacher education through cutting-edge curriculum and instruction, research, and innovative product development. It grants undergraduate and graduate degrees and offers diploma and certificate programs in teacher education and hubness. FTD is an instruction-oriented unit of the campus, which is primarily responsible for ensuring that students get the best teacher preparation and development training. Faculty members are expected to provide quality instruction and conduct research in aid of instruction.

FTD has the following functions:

  1. Provides assistance to the OEDP and ODAH regarding the Campus’ graduate and undergraduate programs;
  2. Assists in the evaluation of existing curricular programs and creation of new ones that are innovative and expressive of the vision of the Hub and its full development;
  3. Updates students and faculty members with current school and program policies, procedures, requirements, and new developments to all aspects of the program;
  4. Orients students on the academic expectations of the programs and procedures and the standard to which research must conform;
  5. Proposes a plan of action to OEDP and ODAH on the recruitment, admission, and retention of students;
  6. Provides assistance to the faculty members in preparing academic and instructional materials, course files, syllabus, research, and other curricular and instructional implementations;
  7. Facilitates the provision of services to students regarding various academic
    concerns as well as requirements for completion of their respective degrees;
  8. Assists the graduate students in the publication of their research or creative works;
  9. Implements the approved curricular, diploma, and certificate programs;
  10. Conducts regular faculty assembly for consultation, planning, and monitoring of programs;
  1. Prepares, distributes, and recommends the faculty workload per term;
  2. Assists ODAH in the conduct of orientation to newly hired faculty members and observation of classes; and
  3. Plans, implements, and monitors the experiential learning, campus internship program, and field study courses of the undergraduate programs.
