The donation of the parcel of farmland is counterpart of the Local Government Unit of Alicia led by Hon. Joel Amos P. Alejandro in the tripartite agreement with the universities to pioneer agricultural education in the country through the SBMASE. Dr. Lordinio Vergara, Vice President for University Relations and Advancement (VPURA) remarked that the next move now depends on the partner universities to make the farmland a “classroom of life”. Moreover, Dr. Bert J. Tuga, PNU University President, assured that the partner institutions shall ensure the achievement of the intended purpose of the land. In his message, Hon. Alejandro expressed his vision that research be one key output in the duration of the program to effect agricultural improvement in the municipality adding that the LGU is ready to provide needed developments and projects to advance the goals of the partnership. Meanwhile, Dr. Ricmar P. Aquino, ISU University President, suggested possible partnership with other agencies in the agricultural side of the program. Present in the event were officials of the LGU, university officials and faculty of PNUNL and ISU led by Dr. Leticia N. Aquino (Executive Director and Provost) and Dr. Boyet L. Batang (VP Academic Affairs) respectively.
