ALICIA, Isabela — To establish its compliance with regulatory authorities and strengthen its drive for continuous improvement in providing services, the Philippine Normal University North Luzon (PNUNL) conducted its management review on the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001: 2015 Quality Management System (QMS) on Friday, at the Multi-Purpose Function Hall, Innovation Hub for School Living Traditions and Indigenous Education Building.
According to Dr. Jane Cariaga, Quality Assurance Coordinator, establishing QMS to adapt the ISO 9001:2015 is an option for PNUNLโs goal to provide better services to its stakeholders as it is a clear evaluation indicator that the institution organizes the standard implementation of processes and procedures in all its core functions.
โPNUNL is working hard to show the ability of PNUNL to consistently offer customer and regulatory-compliant products and services and demonstrate continuous improvement,โ Cariaga stated.

Meanwhile, the EDP expressed that the ISO will be a โdream come trueโ for PNUNL, which, according to her, is the first campus among other PNU campuses to undergo ISO auditing.
โIt is a dream we all envision together as one campus and as one familyโฆfinally we can say, we made it, at least to this management review,โ Aquino said.
โThis management review is worth the hard work of every campus official, every student, and every stakeholder of this institution,โ she added.
Furthermore, as the event concluded with the management commitment delivered by the chief executive of PNUNL, she asserted that the university would commit to undertake actions to improve the implementation of QMS in terms of academics, and administration, and to deliver effective and efficient operation of the campus.
โThe management commits to act on the lessons learned from this management review and the management commits to address the noncompliance, the opportunities for improvement (OFI) of the different offices,โ Aquino stated.
According to the EDP, the conduct of the said management review leads PNUNL to more challenging steps to recalibrate and improve its noncompliance and OFIs for the ISO certification.
โWe still have a long journey to take, but I am quite confident that with the support and commitment of everyone here, we can make it,โ Aquino said.
As identified by the ISO, the ISO 9001:2005 is a globally recognized standard for quality management that helps organizations of all sizes and sectors to improve their performance, meet customer expectations, and demonstrate their commitment to quality, its requirements also define how to establish, implement, maintain, and continually improve an institutionโs QMS.
