Dr. Ester B. Ogena, former University President of the Philippine Normal University system and Guest Speaker addressed the PNUNL community encouraging them to find their “voice in IP education and make it louder” as the campus celebrated its 10th year as the hub of Indigenous Peoples Education in a convocation held today, December 9.Recognizing the efforts of the university in championing IP Education, Dr. Ogena suggested that PNUNL further lead in the development of a strategic plan for life-long strategies for IP learning to better communities. She added that the campus should deepen its engagement in a more concrete manner and stay at the core of establishing a deeper relationship with stakeholders.The program likewise highlighted the journey of the campus in becoming the IP education hub through Dr. Elena A. Navas and Dr. Marie Grace S. Cabansag former Executive Director and Provost and Dean for Academics and IPEd respectively.Consequently, the current administration led by Dr. Leticia N. Aquino expressed its vision for PNUNL to forge better ties with the stakeholders in the betterment of communities through IP Education.Meanwhile, the celebration also featured a festive vibe for the dances and cheers upholding indigenous peoples communities through the contested activities such as headdress making, street parade, and bench cheer participated by students of the university.The 10th IPEd Hub Anniversary Celebration was spearheaded by Dr. Jandy S. Danzalan, the OIC Director of the Center for Indigenous Peoples Education.
